OUR HISTORY
About five years ago, West Charlotte Church and Freedom Presbyterian Church were meeting separately at different times in the same building. Over time, it became clear that the Lord was leading these two congregations to become one church family.
That merger formed West Charlotte Church at Freedom.
Today, West Charlotte Church at Freedom is a church rooted in the gospel and committed to serving west Charlotte. We are thankful for God’s faithfulness in bringing us together and for the work He continues to do in and through our church.
MISSION & VALUES
OUR MISSION
West Charlotte Church at Freedom exists to love God, love our neighbors, and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
OUR VALUES
At WCCF, our values are shaped by the gospel and rooted in God’s Word. We desire to be a church that reflects the heart of God in our worship, our life together, and our service to our West Charlotte community.
Biblical Teaching
The Bible is God’s living Word and has the power to change us by bringing comfort and conviction.
Hebrews 4:12
Gospel-Centered
The gospel of Jesus Christ is our hope and foundation for salvation and life. The good news is not what we can do for God, but what God has already done for us in Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:2
Beautiful Diversity
God’s desire is to draw men and women from every tongue, tribe, and nation to join together in life, worship, and mission.
Revelation 7:9
We desire to reflect God’s heart and also reflect the diversity of our West Charlotte community.
Discipleship
We are committed to gospel transformation, equipping men, women, and children through grace to be transformed to love others.
Ephesians 2:8–10
Justice & Mercy
We are committed to biblical justice and mercy, caring for the physical needs of those in our church and community.
Micah 6:8
OUR BELIEFS
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. It is God’s true revelation and our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
The Trinity
We believe there is one true God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Humanity and Sin
We believe that all people are sinners and, apart from God’s mercy, are unable to save themselves from sin and its consequences.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is the work of God alone. In His grace, He saves sinners not because of human merit or foreseen faith, but according to His sovereign purpose and mercy.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection, He accomplished salvation for all who trust in Him alone.
God’s Covenant Promises
We believe that God is gracious and faithful to His people, not only as individuals but also in families across generations, according to His covenant promises.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in God’s people and gives them strength, wisdom, and grace to trust Christ and follow Him.
The Return of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ will return bodily and visibly to judge all people and to bring His people to Himself.
The Christian Life
We believe that every part of life is to be lived for the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
West Charlotte Church at Freedom is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
